*6 fifteen
From two hit producers in Nashville, Regie Hamm (over 20 #1 hits in Christian music as a writer/producer and the #1 song in the world, David Cook’s “Time of My Life” from American Idol fame) and Rob Galbraith (producer of Ronnie Milsap-over 40 #1 hits, and the Disney sensation Coco Jones) come a sound that is comparable to none. Country Funk is how it’s best described, starting with the lead vocals of Jason Grainger. Jason’s range seems to have no ceiling at times and even when he is in that range, he never loses the thick soulful presence that evidently rubbed off on him while listening to all of those Ronnie Milsap and Delbert McClinton records. Next you go to Shane Sutton who was belting out pop hits on movie soundtracks by age 10, winning Star Search by 14 and his first solo record by 19, he’s no stranger to the music business. He’s been asked to play on many hit artists master record by the artist themselves. Then there’s Louis Winfield. He was personally asked by George Clinton to play on his most recent album and join the Parliament Funk. His stage presence is worth the price of admission by itself. Their 18 yr old Bass player, Sam Hunter, spent his earlier years playing many nights with the Wooten Brothers. Industry greats have marveled at this young man and what he’s accomplished in such a short time. Not to be outdone, Dave Cohen grew up playing R&B and funk with B3 as his first instrument. Dave attained a jazz degree in college, then landed a rock gig right out of college. Shortly thereafter he landed a country gig in Toronto that eventually led him to Nashville. He is a natural fit for this wildly entertaining band. Come see this “Arena” band before they hit arenas!
